  • February 2016 - Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny - End Title Song Orchestration and Lyrics

    Anna has co-written the English lyrics (with Shigeru Umebayashi) to the song "Eternal Breath" for the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny soundtrack album, released internationally by Sony Classical on 25 March 2016.

     

    Anna also orchestrated the song for Umebayashi, the Chinese lyric-version of which features at the end of the film (entitled "If Only One Second Remains" - Chinese lyrics by Keer Qinfu). Both versions feature Anna's arrangement for pianist Lang Lang and vocalists Jam Hsiao and Coco Lee. The film is produced by The Weinstein Company and was released on Netflix and in selected IMAX cinemas on 26 February 2016.

  • March 2015 - Orchestral arrangement for MOXIE with the Ulster Orchestra

    Anna has been commissioned by the BBC to orchestrate the radio edit of Moxie's track 'Planted' for the band and the Ulster Orchestra's performance at BBC Northern Ireland's St Patricks' Day concert at Belfast's Waterfront Hall. The concert will broadcast on BBC NI at 9pm and also on BBC Radio Ulster also on 17th March 2015.

  • October 2014 - Luke Daniels New Album - String Arrangements

    Anna has worked closely with musician Luke Daniels over the past couple of years and was string arranger on his debut singer-songwriter album What's Here What's Gone, released on 6th October, to critical acclaim. R2 Magazine described it as "Intense, poetical and oft dark yet recounted through pleasing melodies. A rich tapestry has been woven into the songs; like a thoughtful unpicking and re-stitching of life’s journey."

  • August 2014 - Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs

    Anna will finish out 2014 immersed in animation work, having been commissioned to score a new 52 x 11min series Captain Flinn and The Pirate Dinosaurs for Australia's SLR Productions in partnership with Telegael, Top Draw Animation, ZDF Enterprises and Nine Network (Australia). The series is based on the award-winning books by author & illustrator team Giles Andreae and Russell Ayto.

  • December 2013 - 4 Queens wins at Babel and Moondance Film Festivals

    Vittoria Colonna’s 4 Queens which Anna scored in early 2013 has been awarded the Babel Jury Prize at the Babel Film Festival, Cagliari. Last August the film was also awarded 'Best Short Narrative' Film at the Moondance Film Festival, Connecticut, and previously has screened at a number of international festivals, including LA Indie Film Fest and the Galway Film Fleadh. The short stars Bríd Mc Carthy (Stardust, War of the Buttons) Geraldine Plunkett (Insatiable, The Clinic) Máire Ní Ghráinne (The Clinic, Ballykissangel), Áine Ní Mhuirí (The Guards, The Field), and Sheila Flitton (The Tudors, The Commitments) and was produced by Underground Films.

  • October 2013 - On Drover Tracks at Celtic Connections 2014

    Mitchell Library, Glasgow - 23 January 2014, 8pm

    Selected tracks from Anna’s song cycle of traditional arrangements and new works, commissioned by Gael Music and Arts Council England (which toured the UK in May 2013) will be performed as part of Celtic Connections 2014. Members of the original touring ensemble, Luke Daniels (melodeon), Matheu Watson (guitar and whistle) Ceri Rhys-Matthews (flute, pibgorn), Ceri Owen-Jones (Welsh harp) and Miranda Rutter (fiddle) will be joined by renowned Scottish fiddle players Lauren MacColl and Patsy Reid, and cellist Su-A Lee.

  • August 2013 - Wild Grinders Season 2, Nicktoons USA

    Anna is returning to score the second season of Rob Dyrdek’s Wild Grinders for Home Plate Entertainment (USA) and Telegael (Ireland) with Season 2 set to air on Nicktoons USA in early 2014. Voiceover cast includes Rob Dyrdek (Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness), Kel Mitchell (The First Family, Kenan and Kel) and Erin Fitzgerald (Monster High).

  • August 2013 - Cara Dillon, Headline Concert, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann

     Millennium Forum Theatre, Derry - 15 August 2013, 8pm

     

    Cara and her all-star band (Sam Lakeman, Luke Daniels, Zoe Conway, Ed Boyd, Eamonn Murray and Brian Finnegan) will play a headline concert as part of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, featuring Anna’s orchestral arrangements (played by The Orchestra of Ireland - conductor Joe Csibi).

  • July 2013 - An Evening with The Chieftains

    National Concert Hall, Dublin - 19 and 20 July 2013, 8pm

     

    Anna has collaborated with Paddy Moloney, orchestrating his Lullaby For The Dead (lyrics by Brendan Graham) for orchestra, choir and solo voice (Alyth McCormack) for The Chieftains’ upcoming concerts at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. The band will be joined by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ Philharmonic Choir and guests, Tim Edey, Cara Butler and The Pilatzke Brothers. Concerts conducted by Stephen Bell.

  • January 2013 - Cara Dillon with The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra

    City Halls, Glasgow - 20 January 2013, 7.30pm

     

    Anna joins Cara and her band at Celtic Connections in Glasgow for a reprise of her acclaimed orchestral concert at the Grand Opera House, Belfast last June. Anna’s orchestral arrangements will be played by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Joe Csibi) and joining Cara on stage will be musicians Sam Lakeman, Luke Daniels, Zoe Conway, Ed Boyd, Eamonn Murray and Michael McGoldrick.

  • May 2012 - Anna orchestrates for Cara Dillon concerts (Belfast)

    Anna has worked closely with Cara and Sam on new arrangements for her band with full orchestra, for two upcoming concerts in Belfast with the Ulster Orchestra. Anna’s orchestration of The Verdant Braes of Skreen will feature as part of the `Great Northern Songbook' concert at the Ulster Hall Belfast, (conductor David Brophy) on 22 May (tickets here). The concert will be broadcast live on BBC Ulster Radio (listen here).

     

    On 3 June, Cara’s full-length concert at The Grand Opera House, Belfast will feature Anna’s new arrangements for orchestra and Cara’s band, namely Sam Lakeman, Luke Daniels, Zoe Conway, Ed Boyd, Eamonn Murray and John McSherry, (with The Ulster Orchestra conducted by Joe Csibi.)

  • November 2011 – Cara Dillon, ESB Live

    National Concert Hall, Dublin - 25 November 2011, 8pm

     

    Anna has been working on string arrangements for Cara Dillon and husband Sam Lakeman for their upcoming live concert at Dublin’s National Concert Hall, Dublin. Their band comprise some of the finest traditional musicians in the UK and Ireland, namely Zoe Conway (fiddle), Ed Boyd (guitar), James Fagan (bouzouki) and Brian Finnegan (flutes/whistles). Strings conducted by Joe Csibi.

  • November 2011 - When Bankers Were Good, BBC2

    Anna has scored the title music to Wingspan Productions’ latest documentary production, presented by Ian Hislop, When Bankers Were Good (dir. Helena Braun). See the film on BBC 2 next Tuesday at 9pm.

  • August 2011 - Tongan Ark feature documentary

    Anna has recently completed the score to Public Films’ (New Zealand) debut feature Tongan Ark. The film was made by director/producer husband and wife Paul Janman and Echo Zeanah-Janman and premieres at the New Zealand International Film Festival in Auckland in August 2012.

  • July 2011 – Juno And The Paycock

    Anna has been commissioned to write the score for the inaugural co-production of the National Theatre and Abbey Theatre (Dublin), Seán O’Casey’s Juno And The Paycock. The play will be directed by Howard Davies and the star-studded cast includes Ciarán Hinds (In Bruges, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows) and Sinéad Cusack (The Tiger’s Tail, V for Vendetta). The play will premiere at the Dublin Film Festival and relocate to the Lyttleton Stage at the National Theatre, London in early 2012.

  • January 2011 - The Troublemaker's Jig recording session

    Anna recently joined recording engineer Brian Masterson, composer John Hughes, Paddy Moloney, Seán Keane and Triona Marshall of The Chieftains along with African drumming band De Jimbe (with vocalist Lariman Ojelade) in studio to produce The Troublemaker’s Jig. The piece was written by Hughes and Moloney, and Anna was associate producer for the track which will feature on Hughes’ upcoming album Wild Ocean II, due for release on Decca Records / Spokes / Universal Music Ireland in early 2012.

  • October 2010 - Ian Hislop’s Age of the Do-Gooders, BBC 2

    Anna has signed to score the title music to Ian Hislop’s Age Of The Do-Gooders, a three-part documentary series for BBC 2, produced by Wingspan Productions (dir. Deborah Lee). The series will broadcast on BBC 2 at 9pm on three consecutive Mondays from 29 November, presented by Ian Hislop.

  • February 2010 - Getting Our Way, BBC4

    Anna recently scored the pre-title music to Wingspan Productions’ three-part series Getting Our Way (dir. Helena Braun) presented by former British Ambassador to the United States and Germany, Sir. Christopher Meyer.

     

    The series broadcasts on BBC 4, Monday nights at 9pm, 8th, 15th and 22nd February.

  • August 2009 - John Hughes’ The Mandela Suite

    Anna has been working closely with composer John Hughes on his choral piece The Mandela Suite. The piece is a nine-minute rock, choral and orchestral work featuring soloists Nono Madolo and Lariman O'Neill-Ojelade, which centres around a spoken recording of Nelson Mandela’s voice made by the great anti-apartheid revolutionary specially for Hughes in 2006.

     

    Anna’s choral arrangement integrates into the previously-orchestrated work (orch. Fiachra Trench) and was recorded by members of the Resurgam and Mornington choirs in Windmill Lane studios. The track is scheduled for release on Hughes’ upcoming album Wild Ocean II.

  • Feb 2009 - Management and publishing deal: First Name Music & Music Sales Film and TV

    Anna has signed with manager Laurence Aston of First Name Music, and also joins the roster of Music Sales Film and TV composers, signing a publishing deal with Aston’s First Name Music and Novello and Co. Ltd.

  • November 2008 -  IFTA Nomination, Original Score for Anton

    Anna is happy to have received news that her score for Graham Cantwell’s Anton has been nominated for ‘Best Original Score’ at the 2009 Irish Film and Television Awards. The film’s cast includes Gerard McSorley (The Constant Gardener, Veronica Guerin) Laura Way (The Tudors, The Clinic) and Anthony Fox (The Bill) and also receiving nominations for the work on the film are Gerard McSorley for his role as Detective Lynch and Fergal O’Hanlon (Past Pupil, Yu Ming Is Ainm Dom).

     

    Anna recorded the score in Pulse Recording Studios Dublin and Smecky Studios Prague, with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The Awards will be hosted in Dublin in February 2009.
